State Representative Evelyn Terry is a first term representative of House District 71 Forsyth County. She serves on nine committees and has sponsored 69 bills as well as securing resolutions that honor fallen soldiers, Winston-Salem’s 100th anniversary, and Women’s History Month. She has more than 25 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit organizations, higher education and public service agencies producing in excess of $50 million dollars in grants and contracts. 

Prior to her service in the House, she served in the City Council of Winston-Salem. Currently she serves as chair of the Forsyth County Department of Social Services Board of Directors and she is the Principal of the George Black House and Brickyard. She is also a charter member of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Representative Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johnson C. Smith University and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University.
