State Senator Gladys Robinson has represented District 28 Guilford County for two terms. She is involved in 14 committees and has been the primary sponsor of 97 bills. Senate Robinson is the Deputy Minority Leader of the North Carolina Senate. For 30 years, she has served as Executive Director for Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency; a community health center that addresses health conditions such as sickle cell, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, breast cancer, prostate Cancer prevention programs and education/prevention programs. Senator Robinson has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the UNC Board of Governors and being Vice President and founding board for the Guilford Community Aids Partnership. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

She completed undergraduate work at Bennett College and earned both a Masters in Education and Counseling and a PhD in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University.
