Former State Representative Larry Womble epitomizes the meaning of public servant. First he impacted the lives of students and their families as a teacher and school administrator. Secondly, he represented his neighbors as a city councilman for twelve years and thirdly, for 18 years he was a member of the NC House of Representatives from the 71st district Forsyth County.

During his tenure in the House, he sponsored and championed the NC Racial Justice Act; challenged the racially-biased conviction of Darryl Hunt and for nearly 10 years advocated for the survivors of the state’s sterilization program. Mr. Womble earned a B.S. degree in Education from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Education degree in Administration from UNC-G, and an ED.S in Administration and an Advanced Principal’s Certificate from Appalachian State University.
