State Representative Henry “Mickey” Michaux, Jr. is the longest serving member of the NC General Assembly, serving seventeen and a half terms. He is a member of nine committees and is Vice Chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee B. He is a Partner in law firm, Michaux and Michaux, and Vice President of Union Insurance and Realty Company. 

Michaux became the U.S. Attorney, Middle District of NC in 1977 making him the first Black U.S. Attorney in the South since Reconstruction. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. Representative Michaux earned his B.S. and J.D. from North Carolina Central University.
